Business Manager EMEA - Home Care & Disinfection (M/F/D)

We are seeking a commercially driven Business Manager EMEA – Home Care & Disinfection to take regional ownership of a significant product portfolio, driving business growth and profitability across the EMEA region. In this role, the successful candidate will serve as the primary commercial and technical interface for key and mid-size accounts, leading account development and portfolio promotion. The position is based in Barcelona , Spain, reports directly to the Head of Sales & Marketing EMEA, and operates within a regional scope.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement regional market concepts within the Business and Key Account strategy framework
- Manage and grow local accounts, sales channels, and technical service activities across EMEA
- Drive business profitability by promoting new and existing product portfolios to target customer segments
- Develop regional account concepts in close coordination with Clariant and joint venture partners
- Execute tailored marketing concepts for major and mid-size accounts while fostering long-term customer relationships
- Represent the commercial and technical interface with customers, ensuring a high-quality customer experience
- Support the implementation of sales channel strategies and contribute to continuous improvement of supply chain and logistics procedures
- Manage regional net working capital (NWC) issues and monitor performance against defined targets
- Initiate and negotiate mid- and long-term supply contracts with mid-size accounts
- Set up and execute technical projects in collaboration with Product & Technology (P&T) teams
- Monitor and report on KPIs including sales growth, customer satisfaction, receivables, overdues, and inventory levels
- Contribute to cross-functional initiatives that enhance cost-to-serve efficiency and customer value
Requirements
- Degree in Business Administration, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field
- Minimum 5 years of experience in sales or marketing, ideally within the specialty chemicals or related industry
- Balanced understanding of finance, strategy, and technology with a commercial mindset
- Experience working in more than one country, or cross-functional management experience in two or more key functions (e.g., R&D, Sales/Marketing, Finance) is a strong advantage
- Market or application knowledge in detergents, home care, cleaning products, or chemical intermediates is highly desirable
- Fluent in English (C1 level); additional European languages are an asset
- Proven ability to manage complex customer relationships and multi-stakeholder environments
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable business decisions
- Collaborative team player with a high degree of accountability and ownership
- Agile, self-driven, and capable of working effectively across cultures in a fast-paced, international environment
