Assistant Financial Controller - External Reporting

You must live in the Gibraltar or Southern Spain area for this 100% office based role
What is the plan for the Assistant Reporting Accountant role?
• Preparation and submission of financial statements and regulatory reports for Gibraltar and Malta entities, including both entity-level and consolidated accounts.
• Own key components of quarterly and annual external reports for regulators, auditors, and tax authorities.
• Preparation of Solvency II filings, including SFCR, and QRTs.
• Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of data used in regulatory filings and statutory reporting through review and validation.
• Tax and regulatory filings, including Insurance Premium Tax (IPT) and corporate tax returns.
• Support the implementation of new or updated reporting requirements and regulatory changes.
• Collaborate with key stakeholders to support external audit processes, ensuring timely and accurate responses to audit requests.
• Work with internal stakeholders to document, maintain, and continuously improve financial reporting processes and procedures. What do you know that makes you a great Assistant Reporting Accountant? • AAT qualified or part-qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA), or equivalent experience.
• Previous experience in insurance accounting or financial reporting is preferred.
• External audit experience is an advantage.
• Advanced Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical capabilities.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines. Salary £42k - £48k based on experience with benefits package.
