Vice President of Product

Refinery89 is looking for an experienced and strategic Vice President of Product to define and lead the long-term product vision for our advertising technology platform. This is a senior leadership role that requires extensive AdTech experience and deep expertise in the programmatic advertising ecosystem.

Reporting directly to the executive leadership team, you will be responsible for shaping our product strategy, scaling our Product organisation, and ensuring our technology continues to deliver measurable value for publishers across European markets. You will work closely with Engineering, Data, Commercial, and Publisher Success to translate business strategy into product direction, balancing innovation, technical excellence, and commercial impact.

What You'll Do

1. Define and own Refinery89's overall product vision, strategy, and long-term roadmap, ensuring alignment with the company's commercial objectives and growth plans.
2. Lead and develop the Product organisation, establishing world-class product management practices across discovery, prioritisation, execution, measurement, and continuous improvement.
3. Partner closely with Engineering leadership to define the technology roadmap, ensuring our platform remains scalable, reliable, and at the forefront of publisher monetisation innovation.
4. Own portfolio-level product prioritisation, balancing customer value, technical investment, commercial opportunity, and operational capacity across multiple initiatives.
5. Drive innovation across our core AdTech platform, including ad serving, header bidding, yield optimisation, identity solutions, privacy technologies, and publisher monetisation products.
6. Work closely with Commercial and Publisher Success teams to understand customer needs, validate product opportunities, and ensure roadmap decisions reflect market demand and strategic priorities.
7. Establish clear product KPIs and success metrics, using data and experimentation to guide investment decisions and continuously improve publisher outcomes.
8. Build strong partnerships across Engineering, Data, Commercial, Operations, and Leadership to ensure alignment on company priorities and successful product delivery.
9. Represent Product at executive level, contributing to company strategy, organisational planning, investment decisions, and long-term business direction.
10. Stay ahead of developments across the global AdTech ecosystem, translating changes in privacy, identity, regulation, and programmatic advertising into strategic product opportunities.
11. Build relationships with strategic publishers, technology partners, and industry stakeholders to ensure Refinery89 remains a leader in publisher monetisation technology.
12. Foster a product culture centred on ownership, customer value, technical excellence, experimentation, and data-driven decision making.

Who We're Looking For

• 10+ years of Product Management experience within the AdTech industry is required.
• Proven leadership experience within an SSP, DSP, publisher technology platform, ad exchange, monetisation platform, or equivalent AdTech company is mandatory.
• Deep expertise in programmatic advertising is essential, including RTB, header bidding (Prebid.js), ad serving, inventory management, auction mechanics, and publisher monetisation.
• Demonstrated experience defining product strategy and leading Product organisations through periods of growth and platform evolution.
• Proven success partnering closely with Engineering leadership to build and scale highly technical software platforms.
• Strong understanding of product operating models, product discovery, roadmap management, experimentation, and product analytics.
• Commercially minded, with the ability to connect product investments to customer outcomes, revenue growth, and long-term business strategy.
• Experience leading, mentoring, and developing high-performing Product Managers while fostering a strong product culture.
• Strong analytical mindset with experience using product metrics, experimentation, and data to drive strategic decision making.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with experience influencing executive leadership and aligning cross-functional teams around a shared vision.
• Strong understanding of Privacy Sandbox APIs, post-cookie identity solutions (UID2, RampID, and similar technologies), consent management, and the evolving privacy landscape.
• Experience within publisher-side monetisation environments is highly preferred.
• Fluent English is required. Spanish is a strong plus.
• Based in Madrid or willing to relocate, with regular in-person collaboration expected at our Madrid HQ.
