Senior Data Scientist

Our product offering in the UK includes personal and business bank accounts, joint accounts, accounts for 16-17 year olds, a free kids account and credit cards, with more to come. Our UK customers can save, invest and combine their pensions with us. With our Coral cards and get-paid-early feature, plus financial education on social media and award-winning customer service, we have a history of creating positive experiences for our customers. We’re not about selling products—we want to solve problems and change lives through Monzo.

Location: Barcelona, Spain. Base salary depending on experience + incentive awards tied to performance + benefits. Hybrid model: 3 days a week in the office.

About our Data Science Teams

We’re looking for a Senior Product Data Scientist to help build the bank of the future. You’ll have the opportunity to enhance user engagement and help build a bank that customers truly love. At Monzo, we aim to be fair, transparent and delightful to use, with a fast-growing customer base and a strong culture of data-driven decision making. All data lives in one place and is easy to use; a large portion of day-to-day decisions are supported by self-serve analytics through Looker, freeing data scientists to focus on high-impact questions.

Your day-to-day

Applying your expertise in quantitative analysis, data mining, and data presentation to understand how users interact with our products and how insights inform product strategy. Guide and enable product teams to measure what matters; initiate or help run A/B experiments to improve outcomes. Collaborate with finance to obtain a unified understanding of user lifetime value and how different features impact profitability. Liaise with engineers to ensure we collect the right data to produce relevant business insights.

The Interview Process

Our interview process involves multiple stages: Recruiter Call, Initial Call, Technical Interview, and Final Interview including a case study and collaboration interview. The process typically takes 2–3 weeks, with flexibility to accommodate your availability. You will speak with our recruitment team at various points during the process.
