Management Accountant - bilingual

The Management Accountant is responsible for supporting the Finance Director in delivering accurate financial reporting, budgeting support, project costing and financial analysis across the business. The role plays a key part in monitoring financial performance, maintaining robust financial controls, and providing financial information to support operational and commercial decision-making within the ship repair and conversion business.

What will you do as a Management Accountant?

• Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and supporting schedules.
• Produce regular financial reports and management information within agreed deadlines.
• Support month-end and year-end accounting processes.
• Assist with the preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts.
• Monitor actual performance against budgets and forecasts.
• Analyse departmental and project costs against budgets.
• Investigate and report significant variances.
• Assist in identifying opportunities for cost control and operational efficiencies.
• Prepare project cost analysis reports and support Work in Progress calculations and reporting.
• Ensure compliance with company financial policies and procedures.
• Assist in maintaining effective financial controls and accurate accounting records.
• Assist with cash flow monitoring and reporting.
• Support the management of accounts payable and accounts receivable activities.
• Maintain accurate financial data within accounting systems.

What do you know that makes you a great Management Accountant?

• Experience in a management accounting or finance role is essential.
• Qualified accounting professional (ACCA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent) is preferred.
• Strong analytical and numerical skills.
• Good understanding of management accounting principles.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Fluent in both English and Spanish is essential.

Salary £40k based on experience with benefits package.
