Responsabilidades

The Senior Underwriter PI Technology is a key contributor and thought leader within the Technology practice, with responsibility for the performance, profitability and strategic development of the Technology portfolio.

The role focuses on underwriting Technology Errors & Omissions (stand‑alone) and packaged solutions combining Tech E&O, General & Product Liability and Cyber, serving a broad range of technology-driven businesses. In addition to strong individual underwriting performance, the Senior Underwriter plays an active role in shaping underwriting strategy, mentoring colleagues, and representing the Technology practice internally and externally.

Working closely with the Local Spanish PI Team and the European Specialties Team, the Senior Underwriter combines deep technical expertise, strong commercial judgement and an entrepreneurial mindset to drive sustainable growth, innovation and market differentiation. The role requires a forward‑looking approach, actively leveraging AI, data and digital tools to enhance underwriting quality, efficiency and market positioning

Strategic Leadership & Business Development

• Act as a key partner to the Department Manager in developing and executing local market strategies.
• Take ownership of defined portfolio segments, key broker relationships and strategic initiatives, with accountability for growth, profitability and portfolio quality.
• Identify emerging Technology risks, evolving business models and new underwriting opportunities; translate insights into actionable go‑to‑market initiatives.
• Contribute to product design, coverage enhancements and positioning of Technology offerings in the market.

Underwriting

• End-to-end underwriting responsibility including submission triage, risk analysis, pricing, coverage structuring, wording selection, terms & conditions negotiation and robust file documentation.
• Exercise senior-level underwriting authority across Technology E&O (stand‑alone) and packaged solutions (Tech E&O / GL&PL / Cyber).
• Lead complex risk assessments, including large limits, bespoke wordings, international programs and non‑standard exposures.
• Ensure excellence across the full underwriting lifecycle: submission triage, risk analysis, pricing, coverage structuring, negotiation, documentation and portfolio steering.
• Actively manage aggregate exposures, limit profiles, rate adequacy and concentration risks across assigned portfolios.
• Serve as a technical reference point for brokers and internal stakeholders on complex Technology risks.

Portfolio Management & Governance

• Take joint responsibility for overall portfolio performance, underwriting discipline and adherence to governance standards.
• Champion best practices in file quality, pricing consistency, documentation and audit readiness.
• Use portfolio data and analytics to proactively identify trends, opportunities and corrective actions.

Cross‑Functional Collaboration & People Development

• Work closely with Claims, Operations, Finance, Legal and other underwriting teams to ensure consistent, high‑quality client and broker outcomes.
• Actively mentor and support underwriters, sharing expertise, market insight and underwriting judgement.
• Contribute to knowledge sharing across the Spanish and European Technology platforms.

Innovation & Digital Enablement

• Lead by example in the adoption of AI‑enabled underwriting tools and data analytics to improve risk selection, pricing quality, turnaround times and portfolio insights.
• Support the testing, piloting and scaling of new technologies, digital/automated workflows and analytical approaches.
• Use data‑driven insights to strengthen market positioning, anticipate emerging Technology risks and support strategic decision‑making.
• Encourage a culture of experimentation, learning and continuous improvement.

Sales & Distribution

• Develop and maintain senior‑level broker relationships, acting as a trusted underwriting partner.
• Support broker development strategies and key account planning.
• Represent the Technology practice in broker meetings, market events and internal forums.

Reporting & Alignment

• Work in close alignment with the Department Manager and broader Specialties leadership.

Engage regularly with US and other European and international Technology teams to align underwriting approaches and share best practices

Titulaciones

Knowledge, Experience and Competencies

• Minimum of five years of underwriting experience within Technology E&O or related segment; solid experience in Cyber and GL&PL underwriting is strongly preferred.
• Experienced in multinational insurance placements.
• Strong sense of accountability, fun and adventure.
• Proven track record of building and maintaining strong business relationships with insureds, brokers and other internal and external stakeholders.
• Natural curiosity; lifelong learner with the ability to challenge the status quo; committed to continuously looking for innovative improvements.
• Hands‑on, entrepreneurial and outcome‑oriented; track‑record and ability to build profitable portfolios from scratch; comfortable taking ownership of decisions.
• Strong communication skills, stakeholder management, and negotiation capabilities.
• Digital fluency (Microsoft 365, data handling, new tools) and a continuous‑improvement mindset.
