Senior Underwriter Financial Lines (MLC & FI)

Job Title: Senior Underwriter – Financial Lines

Senior Underwriter responsible for underwriting assigned risks, including MLC (Management Liabilities Commercial) and FI (Financial Institutions), within the Financial Lines department. The role requires exercising personal underwriting authority, negotiating terms, and making sound business decisions to achieve new business targets.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite MLC and FI risks, ensuring compliance with underwriting guidelines.
• Exercise judgment, negotiate, and make sound business decisions within the authority level granted.
• Develop and maintain relationships with brokers and other distribution partners.
• Identify cross‑selling opportunities across different Lines of Business.
• Drive the sales process for new products and support front‑desk and customer service teams.
• Maintain a target list and generate submissions to meet new‑business goals.
• Apply knowledge of underwriting concepts, practices, procedures, and techniques.
• Review, evaluate, and recommend modifications to underwriting guidelines.

Qualifications and Skills

• Relevant experience in commercial insurance within Financial Lines.
• Degree in Law, Economics, Business Administration, Risk Management or related field (preferred).
• Fluent in English, written and spoken.
• Strong analytical and technical skills.
• Outgoing, entrepreneurial personality.
• Negotiating, communication, and presentation skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and teamwork abilities.
• Client focus and solution orientation.
• Problem‑solving mindset.
• Ability to work collaboratively across functions.
