Department Description

The Group’s corporate financial controlling unit, or ‘Group Control’, performs a wide range of activities such as business performance analytics, management reporting, budgeting and forecasting as well as cost control and transfer pricing across a broad international footprint of over 50 countries. Alongside daily activities, Group controllers also participate in all finance and control related projects as well as strategic initiatives within the group and reporting to shareholders. Functioning as a highly effective bridge between business operations and finance across the group, the team is uniquely positioned to have the broadest field of view possible on business operations and financial performance, making it a privileged placement for development within the organisation.

Job Description

The role of a Group Controller within Financial Planning is focused on executing budgeting processes, such as compiling the unit data submissions, checking the quality of the standard planning templates and elaborate reports based on the information provided by the units.

This is a permanent position located at the Atradius headquarters in Madrid.

In this position your key responsibilities will be:

Active participation in forecast, long term plan and budgeting processes.

Perform data quality analysis.

Design reports to analyse the figures submitted by the units both in PlanAtr and HFM.

Support on the business-as-usual planning activities.

Be contact point for and knowledge expert on one or more dedicated business units

What qualification should you have?

The ideal candidate will have the following profile:

Required qualifications:

• 3 to 5 years relevant experience in finance and/or financial controlling functions
• University degree in Business Administration, finance, economics or similar
• English C1 level (all communication outside the department will be in English)
• Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office / 365 applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint. Experience with ERPs (such as Oracle Hyperion / HFM) is a plus
• Strong analytical skills
• Highly engaged and self-driven to learn and understand the “how” and “why” of the business and its performance.
• Team player who enjoys working collaboratively with others and being part of a team
• Strong organisational and time management skills, understanding the criticality of adhering to deadlines
• A corporate/group role means having a flexible attitude towards ad-hoc requests from senior/executive management and the ability to thrive in a large organisation
