As a Staff Engineer, you will set the direction for high-volume messaging systems that deliver email, push, SMS, and web alerts at scale. You will align with cross-functional partners to translate business needs into reliable, low-latency delivery, impacting audiences across Dow Jones brands. You’ll lead architectural decisions, contribute hands-on code, and elevate engineering practices while exploring AI-augmented development. This role offers influence over platforms used by top brands and a chance to shape scalable, resilient delivery at scale.

Compensaciones / Beneficios
• Define and drive the technical roadmap and architecture for high-scale messaging infrastructure (Email, Push, SMS) with emphasis on availability and scalability
• Act as platform SME for integrations with Braze, Airship, Sailthru to optimize targeting, personalization, and deliverability
• Contribute hands-on engineering on high-risk, complex initiatives and write high-quality code
• Mentor engineers through design/code reviews and clear documentation
• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Infrastructure to translate business needs into robust technical strategies
• Champion testing standards, CI/CD, observability, and incident response practices
• Pioneer responsible AI-augmented development practices (e.g., Copilot, Claude) to balance velocity and risk

Responsabilidades
• 7+ years of software engineering experience at senior/staff level delivering complex backend systems
• Deep AWS and Node.js proficiency with scalable cloud architectures (Lambda, SQS, SNS, xqbhyrx DynamoDB)
• Extensive knowledge of high-volume messaging and email deliverability (SPF/DKIM/DMARC) and mobile push/SMS at scale
• Advanced system design skills for reliable, low-latency, high-throughput services
• Strong technical communication for design docs and stakeholder alignment
