About the role

DCC is now recruiting for a trainee patent attorney, or aregistered/part-registered Patent Attorney with experience in thefield of chemistry to join our Sydney office.

Your day-to-day work will involve all aspects of private patentattorney practice, including liaising with inventors and clients;drafting and prosecuting patent applications; conducting searches;providing patentability, infringement and validity opinions, andproviding strategic portfolio advice.

About You

• A PhD in a chemistry-related discipline is required.
• Preferred field of expertise – organic chemistry, medicinalchemistry, pharmaceutical sciences, biochemistry or chemicalbiology.
• Postdoctoral and/or industry experience would bevalued.
• An excellent communicator with a strong command of writtenand verbal English.
• Demonstrated commitment to and interest in local businessdevelopment.
• Able to understand and critically analyse information andthink laterally.
• Well organised and self-motivated.
• Committed to providing clients with quality advice andservice.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.
