Assistant Driller - Aux

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 3+ years of experience as a Derrickman.
• 5+ years of offshore experience.
• Valid IWCF Well Control Surface and Subsea, Level 3 certificate and BOSIET CA‑EBS.
• 5+ years of experience working with IFS.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in applications and systems required for the position.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Safely and efficiently perform all duties assigned by the Driller during drilling, work over and completion operations.
• Under supervision of the Driller, control actual drilling operations, considering formations, drilling efficiency, and encountered problems.
• Under supervision of the Driller, make trips as necessary to change bits, tools, and drill string length.
• Report to the Driller any unusual occurrences such as rate of penetration, mud weight, loss of circulation, or other changes in hole condition.
• Participate in regular shut‑in drills with all members of the drill crew.
• Recognize pressure problems with the hole.
• Line up choke manifold and stand pipe.
• Recognize kicks, shut the well in, and circulate out.
• Slip and cut drill line.
• String up and string down the drill block.
• Assist service personnel and coordinate the drill crew during operations.
• Assist the Driller in directing and supervising the drill crew based on operations being carried out.
• Maintain a continuous log of the well’s history, documenting equipment used, number of drill pipe joints, special tools, problems encountered, drilling rate, and downtime.
• Maintain all paperwork required by Noble as well as government and operator requirements.
• Assist in the continuous training and development of subordinate personnel through on‑the‑job training or other training as deemed necessary by Noble.
• Provide leadership and direction for less experienced rig personnel.
• Encourage appropriate professional development and training opportunities for employees.

MAINTENANCE & REPAIR

• Maintain good housekeeping on the drill floor at all times.
• Maintain upkeep of tongs, rotary, drawworks and other drill floor accessory equipment.
• Maintain drill floor inventory control of chains, rope, and other rig supplies.
• Assist in supervising the preventative maintenance program for drilling equipment and accessories on the rig floor, including shale shakers, mud pumps, elevators, slips, and related equipment.

HEALTH, SAFETY & ENVIRONMENTAL

• Implement and uphold Noble's safety policies and procedures.
• Ensure that all operations proceed in a safe manner.
• Correct and notify responsible parties of any unsafe acts or conditions that exist.
• Ensure the drill crew works safely and with proper safety equipment.
• Encourage and motivate personnel to observe safety and environmental policies and all intended and implied requirements of Noble's Management System.
• Familiarize with and adhere to Noble's Live Safe Code to promote a zero‑incident, no‑harm workplace.
• Familiarize with and utilize Noble's Hazard Identification Tool to manage risk created by various energy sources in the workplace.
• Attend and actively participate in daily pre‑tour and weekly safety meetings.
• Ensure compliance with the requirements established in Noble's Management System.
• Initiate a safety stand‑down whenever an unplanned hazard or change in expected results is observed.
• Perform all Safety Critical Tasks as detailed in the HSE Case.
• Incorporate the Stop‑the‑Job Planning Process into all tasks, whether working alone or as part of a team.
• Take the initiative to perform emergency duties without specific orders or instruction.
• Develop and implement Job Safety Analysis and prepare hazard assessments as required.
• Ensure compliance with all government regulations.
