BUSINESS CONTROLLER

BOORTMALT is a global malting company with a 3 million tonnes production capacity. The group is present on 5 continents with 27 malting plants. Boortmalt's expertise is widely acknowledged by brewers, distillers, and food industries, who rely on the supply of top-quality barley malts.

The Boortmalt Group is a fully owned subsidiary of the agricultural and agribusiness cooperative Axereal. Our relationship with Axereal, Europe's largest grain cooperative, ensures us access to high-quality barley year-round.

Your mission

As a Business Controller, you'll play a key role at the heart of our finance team, partnering closely with the Group Controller to shape financial performance and support strategic decision-making.

In this dynamic role, you'll work on financial reporting, budgeting, and performance analysis-turning numbers into meaningful insights that truly drive the business forward. Your analytical mindset and eye for detail will help ensure accuracy, compliance, and transparency across our financial activities.

We're looking for someone who is curious, proactive, and eager to grow-someone who wants to build a strong foundation in finance while making a real impact from day one.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
• Support the consolidation of financial statements and ensure accuracy in reporting.
• Perform variance analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.

Budgeting & Forecasting

• Support the annual budgeting and forecasting process.
• Assist in scenario analysis and financial planning to support business strategy.
• Monitor budget vs. actual performance and provide insights.

Performance Monitoring & Analysis

• Track and analyse key financial metrics such as revenue, cost structures, and margins.
• Assist in CAPEX monitoring and investment analysis.
• Support business units with financial data and insights to enhance decision-making.

Process Improvement & Compliance

• Contribute to financial process improvements and standardization across the group.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and financial regulations.
• Assist in audit processes by preparing financial data and documentation.

Qualifications & Skills

• Master's degree in finance, Accounting, or Economics.
• 3-5 years of experience in financial controlling, accounting, or auditing
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Accurate and time-efficient
• Proficiency in financial software (SAP, Oracle, SAP BFC, OneStream, Excel, Power BI).
• Fluent in English, Spanish & French are a plus
• Live nearby Villaverde, Madrid. On site presence is mandatory (hybrid: 4d office/ 1d home office)
