What You’ll Do

• Design, build and maintain scalable data pipelines that transform climate science into production-ready datasets and signals.

• Develop high-quality Python software to power climate risk products, APIs and customer-facing features.

• Work with large geospatial and climate datasets, ensuring they are reliable, validated and ready for use.

• Collaborate closely with climate scientists to translate research and methodologies into robust engineering solutions.

• Contribute to the full lifecycle of new climate signals, from technical discovery and prototyping through production deployment and operational support.

• Improve engineering practices by contributing to testing, automation, documentation and code quality.

• Partner with Product and Platform teams to integrate new datasets and capabilities into Mitiga's products.

What We're Looking For

• 1 to 4 years of experience in Software Engineering, Data Engineering or a related technical field.

• Strong programming skills in Python or another object-oriented language.

• Experience building or maintaining data processing pipelines.

• Familiarity with Git, testing practices and APIs.

• Experience working with structured and semi-structured datasets.

• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to break down complex technical challenges.

• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset, with the ability to work across engineering, product and scientific teams.

• A proactive attitude and ownership mentality. You enjoy improving systems and making things better.

We are open to a range of backgrounds. What matters most is drive, intellectual curiosity, and a genuine interest in climate or infrastructure.

⭐️ Strong Plus

• Experience with Azure or another cloud platform.

• Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, Argo Workflows or similar technologies.

• Experience working with geospatial or climate datasets.

• Familiarity with scientific Python libraries such as xarray, pandas or Dask.

• Exposure to software architecture or distributed systems.

• Experience collaborating with scientists, researchers or analytical teams.
