Associate Director, Global Health Economics & Outcomes Research

AstraZeneca seeks an Associate Director to lead global health economics and outcomes research strategy across multiple disease areas and products. The role involves developing evidence generation plans, managing cross-functional partnerships, and guiding regional teams to support product launches and reimbursement throughout the drug lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute global value evidence generation plans including systematic literature reviews, cost-effectiveness analyses, budget impact analyses, and real-world evidence studies
• Build collaborative relationships across R&D, Commercial, Medical, and Market Access teams to optimize evidence generation and product launch strategies
• Monitor global marketplace for market access issues and develop plans demonstrating asset value and differentiation
• Cultivate relationships with external experts and key opinion leaders to maintain credibility and support reimbursement strategies
• Provide oversight and guidance to regional HEOR teams on best practices, HTA processes, and process improvements

Requirements

• PhD or equivalent education and experience in pharmacy or clinical domain
• 5+ years health economics, outcomes research, or market access experience in biopharmaceutical industry
• Thorough understanding of health technology assessment processes at global level
• Knowledge of drug development, commercialization processes, and global market access landscape
• Proven ability to lead matrix teams, influence stakeholders, and deliver results across organizational boundaries
• Working knowledge of AI tools for literature review and content development with ability to validate outputs
• Published research in peer-reviewed journals and track record of high-quality research delivery
