As the Account Management Team Leader, you will lead a team of Account Managers dedicated to driving retention and revenue growth within a portfolio of small merchants transacting between €5K and €50K in monthly TPV.
Your primary objective will be to lead a high-performing, commercially driven Account Management team that strengthens merchant engagement, improves portfolio health, and unlocks untapped revenue opportunity across this segment.You'll work closely with leadership and key stakeholders to develop scalable account management practices that improve merchant retention, product adoption and net revenue contribution.This role combines people leadership, commercial execution and operational structuring, ensuring the team operates with clear priorities, strong accountability and a consistent merchant engagement strategy.What you'll do:Team leadership and coachingLead, mentor and develop a team of Account Managers responsible for retention and revenue growthConduct regular call coaching sessions, embedding sales techniques and objecting handling best practicesHold regular 1:1s with team members focused on performance, development and engagementCommercial performance managementDrive team performance against net revenue growth, retention and upselling KPIsMonitor portfolio performance and identify opportunities to improve merchant engagementImplement structured engagement cadences prioritizing merchants at risk of churn or with strong growth potentialSupport Account Managers in developing strong commercial conversations with merchantsOperational excellenceEnsure balanced workload management across the teamIdentify skill gaps and implement targeted coaching and enablement initiativesBuild a performance culture that rewards accountability, ownership and continuous improvementCross-functional collaborationCollaborate with Sales, Customer Support, and Product teams to improve merchant experience.Your mission:Drive operational excellence and performance continuityAccelerate activation and revenue generationStrengthen cross-functional collaboration and process scalabilityDevelop talent and reinforce a high-performance cultureWhat we're looking for:4 to 6 years of experience in managing large accountsStrong leadership experience, managing high-performance teamsStrong sales and upselling capabilitiesExcellent verbal and written communication skills In EnglishData-driven mindset with experience in monitoring KPIs and portfolio performanceWhy you should join SumUp:Opportunity to work with SumUppers globally on large-scale fintech products used by millions of businesses worldwide, from our Berlin office.
