You will implement GitOps and Infrastructure as Code patterns for reproducible provisioning, configuration, policy enforcement, platform upgrades, and disaster recovery readiness.Key ResponsibilitiesBuild and operate Kubernetes environments that host AI engineering tools, internal model gateways, retrieval components, workflow services, CI/CD runners, and documentation servicesImplement GitOps and Infrastructure as Code patterns for reproducible provisioning, configuration, policy enforcement, platform upgrades, and disaster recovery readinessManage private registries, package mirrors, secrets, identity integration, network segmentation, storage classes, backup routines, and controlled connectivity modelsProvide observability for engineering workloads, including metrics, logs, traces, GPU and CPU utilization, service health, cost signals, and operational runbooksWork with software, security, and architecture teams to ensure the platform supports AI-assisted SDLC workflows without creating uncontrolled data exposure or audit gapsPlatform Components and ToolsYou will be expected to work with various market tools, models, and platform components including:Platform tooling: Kubernetes, Helm, Terraform, Ansible, ArgoCD, Crossplane, GitLab runners, Jenkins agents, private registries, and internal package mirrorsAI platform components: vLLM, Ollama, OpenAI-compatible gateways, Qdrant or similar vector stores, Open WebUI, Continue-compatible endpoints, and workflow servicesObservability and operations stacks: Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, OpenTelemetry, ELK/OpenSearch, Alertmanager, SRE runbooks, and incident management toolingSecurity and governance components: Vault, Keycloak, network policies, RBAC, admission controls, image scanning, SBOM tooling, and audit loggingInfrastructure awareness: GPU-backed nodes, CPU-only fallback, storage performance, network isolation, proxy patterns, on-premise environments, and dedicated landing zonesYour ProfileWe are seeking a highly skilled Platform Engineer / SRE with extensive Kubernetes and infrastructure expertise to build and operate AI engineering platforms in high-security, sovereignty-driven environments with strong focus on GitOps, observability, and operational excellence.Must Have Skills5+ years of experience in SRE, platform engineering, DevOps, cloud infrastructure, or operations rolesStrong Kubernetes expertiseStrong Linux expertiseProven experience building and operating production-grade engineering platformsExperience with GitOps practices and patternsExperience with Infrastructure as CodeExperience with observability implementationExperience with operational runbooksHands-on skills in TerraformHands-on skills in AnsibleHands-on skills in HelmHands-on skills in Python or shell scriptingExperience with CI/CD runnersExperience with private registriesExperience with secure configuration managementGood understanding of networkingGood understanding of storageGood understanding of secrets managementGood understanding of access controlGood understanding of monitoringGood understanding of backupGood understanding of disaster recoveryGood understanding of operational hardening in high-security environmentsComfortable supporting AI-enabled engineering workloads in sovereignty-driven contextsExperience with isolation and controlled data handlingExperience ensuring reliability and auditability in mandatory compliance environmentsAbout UsT-Systems is part of the Deutsche Telekom Group, with around 30,000 employees worldwide.
