Job Opportunity

We are looking for a Global Engineering Manager within the Grid & Power Quality Solutions and Service (GPQSS) Global Product Group (GPG) team that will be responsible for delivering on our commitments to our customers and partners. You will ensure alignment with GPQSS global standards, processes, tools and governance, drive innovation, and foster collaboration among diverse engineering teams. Together with the Engineering team of the Global Product Group, you will drive consistency in executional excellence for health & safety, quality, on‑time delivery and budget, in line with Hitachi Energy and Grid Integration business unit strategic direction and priorities.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage GPQSS engineering delivery, owning performance management in partnership with local counterparts and customers.
• Serve as the Business Process Owner for GPG GPQSS global engineering processes.
• Mentor and develop engineering leaders and team members to foster a culture of innovation and excellence.
• Build and maintain relationships with key customers and stakeholders.
• Support and drive the BU’s strategy globally within the GPQSS community.
• Coordinate development and implementation of standards, practices, procedures, tools and digitalization initiatives across Global Engineering teams.
• Define and lead continuous improvement initiatives across engineering processes and tools, aligned with Business Unit and Global Product Group strategies.
• Monitor KPIs and performance metrics to ensure operational excellence and strategic alignment.
• Participate in budgeting together with the Global Operations Manager and Controller.
• Conduct Sales and Operations Planning and take actions to close capacity gaps.
• Structure the area of responsibility to fit the business model, ensuring sufficient staff and proper direction.
• Guide, motivate and develop direct and indirect reports within HR policies.
• Oversee competency assessments and ensure engineering staff is licensed and certified appropriately.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Energy Engineering or a related field.
• 15+ years of engineering experience in the energy sector, with 5+ years in a global leadership role.
• Strong strategic communicator able to influence beyond the organization.
• Experience in multinational corporations and global engineering environments.
• Comprehensive knowledge of energy systems, grid infrastructure, renewable technologies, and regulatory frameworks in utility and industrial infrastructure projects.
• Understanding of engineering principles and a proven track record of delivering complex projects across multiple geographies.
• Familiarity with global industry standards such as IEC, IEEE, ISO, ANSI and environmental compliance.
• Result‑oriented mindset with strong interest in leadership and team development.
