Business Unit Head IG/HAE (m/f/x) – Spain
Location: Barcelona, Spain. Contract: Fulltime, permanent.
The Opportunity
We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Business Unit Head IG/HAE to lead our commercial operations in Spain as part of the Iberian Cluster Leadership Team. The role is high‑impact, responsible for driving commercial excellence, meeting ambitious growth targets, and ensuring cross‑functional alignment across the organization.
Responsibilities
- Drive sales performance across key brands, ensuring achievement of revenue, market share, and volume targets.
- Own and manage the commercial P&L, ensuring strong financial performance through effective budgeting, cost control, and ROI optimisation.
- Lead annual budgeting and long‑term planning, and monitor performance with proactive corrective actions.
- Develop and execute the local commercial strategy across sales, marketing, key account management, pricing, and contracting.
- Ensure excellence in product launches, including readiness, execution, and market uptake.
- Contribute to global and regional brand planning processes.
- Lead brand strategy and lifecycle management, including brands in Loss of Exclusivity.
- Drive market intelligence and competitor analysis to inform strategic decisions.
- Identify risks and develop contingency plans to mitigate business threats.
- Advance omnichannel maturity, ensuring optimal integration of digital and field activities.
- Leverage innovative approaches to maximise customer engagement and experience.
- Drive strong collaboration with Medical, Market Access, Regulatory, Legal, and Finance functions.
- Ensure all commercial activities comply with legal, regulatory, and compliance standards.
- Facilitate alignment across the Iberian cluster and with global teams.
- Build, lead, and develop a high‑performing commercial team.
Skills and Experience
- Degree in Life Sciences, Business, or a related field.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in the pharmaceutical or life sciences industry.
- Proven success in product launches at national or regional level.
- Significant experience in sales and marketing leadership roles.
- Demonstrated leadership and people management experience.
- Strong financial acumen, including budgeting and P&L management.
- Excellent influencing and negotiation skills.
- Knowledge of the local regulatory and compliance environment.
- Professional fluency in English (written and spoken).
- Willingness to travel 20–25% of the time.
- MBA or advanced degree in a relevant field (preferred).
- Experience working in a matrix organisation.
- Track record of achieving or maintaining market leadership positions.

- Reports to: General Manager Iberia
- Direct reports: Sales & Marketing IG/HAE team.
