VP - Quantitative Developer

ART is a leading fintech firm and a critical part of the Apex Group, a global financial services provider. Our core solution, RiskMonitor®, offers independent risk compliance and financial risk exposure analysis.

In this role, you will work with Portfolio Managers, Risk Managers, Investment Analysts and the quantitative development team in Barcelona. You will onboard funds into RiskMonitor®, develop custom solutions, maintain client accounts, and collaborate with technology vendors and partners worldwide.

Job Responsibilities

• Key Development Initiatives
  • Annex IV and Form PF: refactor and further develop the existing code base and solutions to facilitate best-in-class stand‑alone solutions.
  • New report parts and analyses: liaise with clients to understand requests and assess feasibility.
• Product & Operations Liaison
  • Performance analysis reconciliation – Performance, Factsheet metrics, Contribution/Attribution, Exposures, etc.
  • Coordinate with Apex Offices globally to ensure correct delivery of BAU restriction queries, report‑related queries, and admin issues.
  • Explain methodology, present RiskMonitor new features to clients, and assist both clients and colleagues from other Apex Offices during onboarding.
  • Coordinate and liaise on VaR, performance, market risk, and liquidity risk metrics.
• Partner and client liaison
  • Support general client and partner initiatives globally.

Role Requirements

• Working knowledge of MATLAB and SQL Server
• Demonstrable source‑control experience, ideally with both GIT and SVN
• Good business acumen and sound finance knowledge
• Excellent communication skills (English)

Desirable Attributes

• Interest in MATLAB
• Demonstrable interest in quantitative finance
• Keen to pursue professional certifications (CFA, FRM, etc.)
