Open up opportunities with HPE.Job Description:Role OverviewHPE is seeking an experienced Unstructured Data Sales Specialist to drive growth across some of the fastest-growing areas of enterprise data infrastructure, including AI, analytics, cyber resilience, rapid recovery, and file/object is a revenue-generating sales role for someone who can create demand, develop pipeline, open new opportunities, and sell emerging technologies.
The ideal candidate combines strong enterprise selling skills with enough technical depth to understand customer challenges, tell compelling technology stories, and connect differentiated capabilities to measurable business outcomes.Success in this role means more than responding to storage refreshes.
You will help customers identify new ways to use their data, modernize legacy architectures, improve cyber resilience, accelerate AI and analytics initiatives, and simplify increasingly complex data environments.Key ResponsibilitiesCreate and own qualified pipeline within assigned strategic accounts and territories.Identify whitespace, competitive displacement opportunities, and new use cases beyond traditional storage refresh cycles.Develop opportunities across:AI infrastructure, inference and RAGAnalytics, data lakes and Lakehouse modernizationCyber resilience and rapid recoveryEnterprise file and object storageHigh-performance S3 and hybrid cloud data architecturesLead consultative discovery to understand customer business, application, data, and infrastructure challenges.Translate technical differentiation into outcomes such as faster recovery, improved AI performance, faster analytics, reduced infrastructure complexity, lower cost, and improved business agility.Build a compelling why change, why now, why HPE value proposition.Engage CIOs, CTOs, CISOs, data/AI leaders, infrastructure executives, architects, and application owners.Partner with HPE account teams, Solution Architects, partners, ISVs, marketing, and product teams to advance opportunities and close business.Develop and execute competitive strategies against incumbent and emerging data infrastructure providers.Represent HPE at customer workshops, executive briefings, industry events, and partner engagements.What We're Looking For7+ years of successful enterprise technology sales, specialist sales, or business development experience.Demonstrated ability to create pipeline and close complex enterprise opportunities.Experience selling storage, data infrastructure, AI infrastructure, analytics, data protection, or related technologies.Strong consultative and value-based selling skills.Ability to understand technical architectures and translate them into clear business value.Proven ability to sell new or disruptive technologies where customer education and market creation are required.Strong executive communication, storytelling, presentation, and negotiation skills.Competitive mindset with experience developing displacement to work effectively across account executives, technical teams, partners, and executive stakeholders.Willingness to travel for customer and partner engagements.Preferred Market & Technology KnowledgeStrong familiarity with several of the following is preferred:Enterprise file and object storageS3, NFS and SMBAI infrastructure, inference and RAGData lakes, Lakehouse's and analyticsBackup, recovery and cyber resilienceHybrid and multi-cloud data architecturesHigh-performance data infrastructureExperience with or selling against platforms from Dell Technologies, NetApp, Pure Storage, VAST Data, WEKA, Cohesity, Commvault, IBM, Scality, Cloudian, or similar enterprise data infrastructure providers is highly desirable.The Ideal CandidateYou are a hunter, storyteller, and business builder.You can enter an account without an active storage project, uncover an important customer problem, connect it to a differentiated technology solution, create executive urgency, and turn that conversation into qualified pipeline.You are technically credible without needing to be the Solution Architect.
