Hotel Operations Manager

Sea Recovery is seeking an experienced Centre / Hotel Operations Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of our premium residential recovery centre in Sotogrande.

This is not a conventional hotel management position.

Our clients come to Sea Recovery during highly sensitive periods in their lives, including recovery from addiction, burnout, emotional difficulties and other personal challenges. They expect exceptional service, complete discretion and a calm, highly structured environm

ent.The successful candidate will take ownership of the entire residential and hospitality operation , ensuring that accommodation, staff, schedules, meals, transport, wellness activities and external professional appointments work seamlessly around each client’s individual programme.

The Role

You will be responsible for ensuring that Sea Recovery operates every day to an exceptional standard — operationally, personally and professionally.

Your responsibilities will include:

Centre & Hospitality Operations

• Oversee the complete day-to-day operation of the centre and residential properties.
• Maintain exceptional standards of accommodation, housekeeping, presentation, maintenance and guest service.
• Ensure communal areas, private spaces and outdoor facilities are consistently maintained to a premium standard.
• Coordinate housekeeping, laundry, maintenance, transport and other operational services.
• Identify operational problems early and ensure they are resolved quickly and professionally.
• Support smooth and discreet client arrivals, stays, transitions and departures.

Client Experience & Recovery-Sensitive Environment

• Maintain a calm, structured, predictable and supportive residential environment.
• Ensure every client receives a highly personalised level of service while appropriate professional boundaries are maintained.
• Understand that clients may be emotionally vulnerable and that communication, consistency and discretion are critical.
• Monitor client experience from an operational perspective and elevate concerns through the appropriate professional channels.
• Maintain absolute confidentiality and respect for client privacy and dignity.

Oversee the organisation and smooth delivery of individual client schedules, including:

• Individual and group therapy appointments
• External medical and professional appointments
• Fitness and personal trainingYoga, meditation and breathwork
• Massage and bodywork
• Wellness and lifestyle activities
• Excursions and recreational activities
• Transport and other logistical requirements

You will coordinate closely with therapists, external healthcare professionals, wellness practitioners, support staff and drivers to ensure programmes run punctually and with minimal disruption or stress for clients.

This is an operational and coordination role and does not involve diagnosis, treatment, therapy or clinical decision-making.

• Lead and supervise the centre’s hospitality, client-support and operational teams.
• Organise rotas, responsibilities and daily priorities.
• Recruit, onboard, train and develop team members where required.
• Establish clear standards of professionalism, discretion, communication and client boundaries.
• Ensure staff understand the particular sensitivities involved when working with clients experiencing addiction, burnout or mental‑health difficulties.
• Build a culture of accountability: problems should be identified, communicated and resolved rather than passed between departments.

Wellness & External Provider Coordination

• Coordinate the operational delivery of wellness and non-clinical services.
• Manage practitioner schedules, facilities and session logistics.
• Ensure external providers meet Sea Recovery’s expected standards of professionalism, discretion and client conduct.
• Monitor service quality and client feedback and address operational shortcomings promptly.

Food & Lifestyle Operations

• Coordinate closely with chefs and nutrition professionals.
• Ensure dietary requirements, allergies and individual preferences are properly communicated and followed.
• Coordinate meal times with individual client programmes and appointments.
• Maintain consistently high standards of food service and presentation.

Standards, Procedures & Reporting

• Implement and continuously improve operational SOPs.
• Maintain appropriate operational records and incident documentation.
• Ensure health & safety, confidentiality and internal procedures are followed.
• Provide clear operational reporting to senior management.
• Coordinate effectively with programme leadership and external professional providers.
• Take ownership of operational incidents and ensure appropriate escalation and follow-through.

Who We Are Looking For

We are looking for someone with strong operational leadership combined with exceptional emotional intelligence.

Ideally, you should have:

• Significant management experience within luxury hospitality, boutique hotels, private residences, wellness retreats or premium residential services.
• Strong experience managing multidisciplinary teams and complex daily operations.
• Experience working with HNW/UHNW or highly demanding international clientele.
• Excellent organisational and scheduling abilities.
• The ability to remain calm and decisive when circumstances change unexpectedly.
• High emotional intelligence and excellent interpersonal skills.
• Strong professional boundaries and sound judgement.
• Absolute discretion, confidentialityand integrity.
• Fluent professional English; additional languages, particularly Spanish, are an advantage.
• Strong computer, scheduling and administrative skills.

Previous experience within addiction recovery, mental health, behavioural health or a trauma-informed environment would be a significant advantage, although candidates with exceptional luxury hospitality experience and the right personal qualities will also be considered.

This Role Will Suit Someone Who Is comfortable taking genuine ownership of a complex operation. You should be the kind of manager who notices a problem before a client has to mention it, understands what needs to happen, assigns responsibility and follows through until it is resolved. You will need to combine the standards of a high-end boutique hotel or private residence with the maturity and sensitivity required in a recovery environment. At Sea Recovery, hospitality is not simply about providing luxury.
