The Team

You'll join our core engineering team, a collaborative group of experienced engineers focused on making complex data available in the real‑time bidding platform for Machine Learning models. What We’re Looking For

We seek an enthusiastic Junior Software/Data Engineer passionate about data pipelines and high‑performance challenges. Success means building robust data pipelines, delivering quality features, and collaborating effectively while learning eagerly.

Your Role at Smadex

Dive into a dynamic environment with short‑cycle tasks, including implementing complex data ingestion services under a "you build it, you run it" philosophy. You'll participate in code reviews, contribute to technical/architectural decisions, and collaborate in a fast‑paced setting where all opinions matter.

Key Responsibilities

• Feature Ownership : Design, develop, and implement Data features for Machine Learning models.
• Quality Assurance : Write clean, efficient, testable code and conduct thorough testing locally and in a staging environment.
• Operational Excellence : Monitor deployments and ensure the stability, reliability, and performance of production systems.
• Agile Collaboration : Participate in agile planning and report on progress within the team.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
• 1-2 years of experience in Software or Data Engineering.
• SQL knowledge.
• Python or Java knowledge.
• Interest in Big Data, Machine Learning, and Data Engineering.
• Excellent English communication skills (written and spoken).

Bonus Points

• Scala knowledge.
• Experience with Key‑Value stores and in‑memory databases (e.g., Redis, Memcached).
• Familiarity with cloud environments, especially AWS.
• Experience with Airflow workflows.
• Languages : Java, Python, Scala, bash.
• Frameworks : Spark.
• Databases : MySQL, Redis.
• Tools : Git, Jira, Notion.
