Akerlei Idiomas is a well-established language school located in the Basque Country (north of Spain). We are currently expanding and looking for qualified and committed English teachers for different positions.
We offer:
- 1) Immediate start – In-company classesEarly morning scheduleOn-site classes in the Ermua / surrounding areaTeaching adult professionalsIdeal for teachers already based locally and looking to complement their timetable
- 2) Position starting after Easter (renewable for the new academic year)Teaching children, teenagers and adultsSmall groupsAfternoon/evening schedule
- 3) Several full academic year positions (September 2026 – June 2027)Average teaching load: 25 contact hours per weekMaximum 12 students per classAdditional time for lesson planning, preparation and meetings in accordance with the Collective AgreementErmua is a safe and well-connected town between Bilbao and San Sebastián, offering excellent quality of life, green landscapes and easy access to the coast and major cities.
Requirements:
- University degree
- CELTA or TEFL qualification
- Minimum 1 year teaching experience
- Experience with Cambridge exam preparation (desirable)
Valid work permit for SpainOnly candidates who already hold a valid work permit for Spain will be considered. Applications from candidates without the legal right to work in Spain will not be processed.
Accepted work authorisations include:
- EU / EEA / Swiss citizenship
- Spanish residence and work permit (including TIE)
- Permanent residence permit
- Student visa with legal authorisation to work
- Any other visa that legally allows employment in Spain
