About the teamWe're a team of 200+ Product Engineers building Business Management solution that actually works for the people using it.
Our core stack is Ruby on Rails and React but the interesting work right now is what we're building on top of that: agentic workflows, LLM-integrated features, systems that behave probabilistically rather than deterministically.Our Infrastructure team's missionTo keep the Factorial application running 24/7, ensure its performance, scalability and security, as well as research improvements to enable Product Engineers to develop new use cases adding value to our customers.What are we looking for?
8+ years of Software/Systems Engineering experience, with 5+ years as Cloud SRESolid experience monitoring and troubleshooting large-scale cloud deploymentsHands-on with Terraform or Ansible for IaCObservability experience with Datadog, Grafana, or OpenTelemetryProficiency with AWS or AzureSomeone able to debug issues in Kubernetes clustersExperience managing large MySQL clusters with HA configurationSomeone who breaks down complex problems into clear, shareable elementsSomeone who enjoys mentoring and helping others growSomeone who can communicate professionally in EnglishPlease note this is not a backend or frontend Software Engineering role.What You'll be doing?
As a Staff Engineer you'll lead technical discussions and provide guidance to more junior engineers on best practices and coding standards.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful delivery of features.Identify and troubleshoot software defects and implement effective solutions.You will be a product-centric engineer, taking ownership of big initiatives, and being interested in the outcome, not just the output.
About the outcome, you'll also work with your team members to establish goals and plan a quarterly roadmap, putting special attention to the technical needs of our domain.You will review code, and get feedback on your own code.You will learn from the entire team, both on technical topics (performance, architecture...) and core skills, in an environment driven by engineering quality.You will share your knowledge, through the RFCs you write, pairing sessions, our mentoring programme or the occasional appearance in the monthly Tech All Hands.How We Work (A Coruña Office)At Factorial, we believe the best products are built when people come together, in person to collaborate, challenge ideas, and move fast.
