Offer Description
The University of Alcalá is offering one full-time research position to work jointly within the UrbanFlex and DATIA projects.
UrbanFlex - \"Digital Twin Aggregator of Urban Buildings with Photovoltaic Generation and Storage for Participation in Local Flexibility Markets\" - is a research project funded by the Community of Madrid.
DATIA - \"Research on the Operation, Maintenance and Energy Management of Data Processing Centres using Artificial Intelligence to Achieve Climate Neutrality\" - is funded by MYTRA CONTROL, S.L. under an Article 60 LOSU contract.
The position is associated with the Department of Signal Theory and Communications and Electronics at the Polytechnic School of the University of Alcalá.
Research area: Energy.
Research line: Smart Energy Networks.
The successful candidate will work across both UrbanFlex and DATIA.
Within UrbanFlex, the researcher will contribute to the development of an advanced energy management platform for buildings equipped with photovoltaic generation and energy storage, focusing on participation in local flexibility markets and interaction with the electricity distribution system.
Within DATIA, the researcher will work on the operation, maintenance and energy management of data processing centres using artificial intelligence to improve energy efficiency and contribute to climate neutrality.
Research activities will include:
Stochastic optimisation methodologies.
Probabilistic forecasting.
Artificial intelligence and machine learning.
Management of distributed energy resources.
Photovoltaic generation and energy storage.
Flexibility provision.
Optimisation of energy consumption in data processing centres.
Improvement of operational and economic performance.
Reduction of energy and environmental impacts.
CONTRACT CONDITIONS
Number of positions: 1.
Estimated starting date: 1 November ****.
Working time: Full-time.
Gross monthly salary: EUR 2,******, including the proportional share of extraordinary payments.
The estimated distribution of the funding is 75% UrbanFlex and 25% DATIA.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
Candidates must hold a university Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
The successful candidate will carry out the activities under the direction and supervision of Dr Carlos Santos Pérez and Dr Francisco Javier Rodríguez Sánchez.
